I am happy to participate in our next curated group exhibition with the unusual title „CRYSANTHEON 2“ which is curated by the Ratinger artist Ute Augustin-Kaiser. On display will be paintings, photography and sculptures by various artists.
The title refers to the artificial word Crysantheon, which is composed of the terms chrysanthemum, an autumn-flowering flower, and Pantheon, a sanctuary dedicated to all the gods. Under Crysantheon Ute Augustin-Kaiser understands an imaginary place in the broader sense, which is to be designed and defined in a series of exhibitions on different aspects. It refers to characters, social systems, culture, mythology, religion, science, technology, architecture, etc. In the first part of this project the aspect was the city. The second part which was already on display at the Oberschlesisches-Landesmuseum in Ratingen-Hösel deals with the personae. External representation, mask, role, role expectations, role plays, hierarchies, but also the loss of status in society are to be understood by this. It is also about the question of identity in the field of tension between external expectations or perception and their own positioning.
This next exhibition is now continued in the Museum Voswinckelshof in Dinslaken with additional new works and accompanying programs. For additional information of the project please have a look here.
